Welcome to Carlton VC Lower School Website

Curriculum Days

As part of our work on the local area, the whole school walked to Chellington Church. The children sketched the church and the spectacular view. They particularly enjoyed the bug hunt and finding facts from the gravestones. It was a beautiful sunny day and we were able to eat our picnic outside.
The whole school took part in an outdoor day, which the School Council helped organise. During the morning activities included orienteering, field sports events, sketching and collage work in the nature reserve, designing a totem pole, and making stencils for the paving slabs.
The afternoon included a kwik cricket competition and swimming. Everyone participated fully and a fantastic time was had by all!
We had a whole day visit from Umbanda Drumming. The day consisted of a mixture of performances and workshops. Everyone participated and had a wonderful time. Following this, in May, we had a very successful Umbanda Drumming Evening for parents, governors, pupils and staff.
Music is highly valued at Carlton Lower School. All pupils have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument. Pupils in year 2 and above are able to learn the recorder. We have visiting peripatetic teachers for the piano, guitar, cello and violin.
Pupils and staff dressed up for a Victorian School Day.
