News/ PTFA

January 2004 saw the opening of our new computer suite. The suite contains 10 computers. The PTFA paid for two of the computers and the extra cost involved in providing flat screen moniors.
We now have three interactive whiteboards and a range of digital cameras to further enhance the teaching and learning of ICT. We are currently working on a project on animation and digital storytelling.
Class 1 have a wonderful outside play area. During the Autumn Term 2007, the area was extended and a canopy erected, to give protection against the sun and rain.
January 2005, Mr David Doran, Chief Education Officer for Bedfordshire, gave an assembly congratulating everyone on the school's excellent Ofsted.
The PTFA run a variety of events throughout the year. Everyone is welcome and a great time is had by all!  They are currently fundraising to support the development of the 'Outside Classroom'.

Beer Sampling

The PTFA beer sampling night in October was all about everyone having fun with 3 key attributes namely beer, curry and a bunch of crazy pirates. The lead man, Dr Busker brought the house down with his amazing singing talent and banter ensuring sides were splitting throughout the evening. Seeing 15 pirates singing and joking in the village hall was quite a surreal experience but it was such a brilliant night that brought not just the school parents together but also the community at large.

The event highlighted that we do not take ourselves too seriously and whilst we want to raise a good profit (£700 to be precise), we also wanted to deliver a night of fun that gave everyone a chance to let their hair down and who would do all they can to come to future events off the back of a positive experience.

The night taught everyone about the beer they drink so there was education; it delivered a super curry so there was fine dining and it brought incredible laughter which is good for the heart.

I still chuckle at the memories of the night and people are still talking about it so roll on future events and good banter!
In July 2005 the school achieved National Healthy School status. We recently went for re accreditation and passed with flying colours! All pupils have at least 2 hours of PE a week. Children in classes 1 and 2 receive free fruit or veg. daily and we have a healthy tuck shop. All pupils have water bottles. We have a weekly aerobics assembly where staff and pupils join in enthusiastically! We also have a range of after school clubs to suit everyone. These include Monday Club, karate, basketball and dance.
